Facebook Open Compute datacenter videók, képek, speckók – kemény.

Nem sok jót tudtam eddig elmondani a Facebookról, de az új Open Compute data center, amit csináltak, igencsak állat — annál is inkább, mert nyílt licensz alatt kiadták a speckóit a datacenter felépítéstől az egyes szerverek technikai részleteiig. Az a fajta alapoktól a dobozon kívül gondolkodás, ami anno a Google-t rávezette a GFS kifejlesztésébe, itt pl. 277 Voltos tápegységeket eredményezett, és, in return, egy olyan szinten energiatakarékos datacentert, amiért még a Greenpeace is megdícsérte őket. (Persze — mert nem lehetett odahajózni hogy tüntessenek…)
